Job summary

Edgehog Trading, a technology-driven proprietary trading firm in Chicago, seeks a Mid-Office Analyst to own trade reconciliation and manage daily broker interactions. You will ensure accurate data across internal systems and external accounts while collaborating with trading, engineering, and operations teams.

You will investigate discrepancies, validate P&L, and support reporting as the firm scales. A strong SQL/Python background and knowledge of trade lifecycles are highly valued.

Qualifications

• 3+ years in a middle office, trade operations, or reconciliation role at a trading firm, bank, broker-dealer, or similar
• BA/BS/MS in Finance, Accounting, Engineering, Math, or related field
• Strong understanding of trade lifecycle, clearing, and settlement processes, ideally in options
• Experience working with clearing firms and exchanges
• Analytical mindset with attention to detail and ability to investigate discrepancies independently
• Familiarity with SQL or Python is a plus and helpful

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end reconciliation of trades, positions, and cash across internal systems and clearing accounts (T+0 / T+1)
• Investigate and resolve discrepancies with traders, developers, and clearing firms
• Manage day-to-day relationships with clearing firms, ensuring timely trade capture, settlement, and issue resolution
• Perform P&L validation and explanation, including reconciliation of fees, commissions, and financing
• Monitor and reconcile cash balances, margin, and funding flows across accounts
• Support daily and month-end reporting with accurate trading and financial data
• Identify recurring issues and drive improvements to reconciliation workflows, controls, and processes
• Partner with engineering to enhance internal tools and automate workflows using SQL/Python
• Help build scalable infrastructure as the firm expands into new products, markets, and clearing relationships

About The Role

We are seeking a Mid-Office Analyst to own the firm’s trade reconciliation processes and manage day-to-day interactions with clearing brokers. This role is responsible for ensuring the accuracy and integrity of trade, position, and cash data across internal systems and external accounts. You will work closely with trading, engineering, and external partners to investigate discrepancies, resolve issues, and improve processes as the firm continues to scale.

What You’ll Do

• BA/BS/MS degree in Finance, Accounting, Engineering, Math, or a related field
• Strong understanding of trade lifecycle, clearing, and settlement processes, ideally in options
• Experience working with clearing firms and exchanges
• Analytical mindset with strong attention to detail and ability to investigate discrepancies independently
• Working knowledge of SQL, Python, or similar tools is a plus.
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced, collaborative environment across trading, engineering, and operations teams

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Base salary represents just one part of overall compensation; all full-time, permanent roles are eligible for a discretionary bonus and benefits, including items in the above list.

The base salary for this role is 80,000 - 120,000 USD per year
