Role Description
NOVO is seeking a Senior Microsoft Platform Engineer to serve as a senior technical resource within NOVO Care. This role provides advanced support, technical escalation, Microsoft platform administration, and practical improvement work across NOVO-managed client environments. The position is focused primarily on Microsoft 365 E5, Microsoft Entra ID, Intune, Defender, Purview, Azure, Windows endpoints, identity, collaboration, security controls, automation, documentation, and related infrastructure dependencies.
Responsibilities
- Serve as a senior escalation resource for complex incidents, service requests, recurring issues, and service-impacting problems across NOVO-managed environments.
- Independently investigate technical issues, identify root causes, implement resolutions, document results, and recommend follow-up improvements.
- Administer, support, troubleshoot, and improve Microsoft 365 E5 services including Entra ID, Exchange Online, Teams, SharePoint Online, OneDrive, Intune, Defender, Purview, and related administrative portals.
- Support Azure environments including subscriptions, resource groups, access control, policies, virtual machines, storage, networking, backup, monitoring, alerting, and governance controls.
- Perform authorized technical security response activities such as account containment, session revocation, endpoint remediation, message investigation, and security control adjustment under NOVO procedures.
- Lead or assist with client environment improvement initiatives that reduce recurring incidents, improve security, increase reliability, standardize configurations, or improve platform operations.
- Use PowerShell to automate repeatable administrative, diagnostic, reporting, remediation, and configuration tasks across supported Microsoft platforms.
- Create and maintain runbooks, troubleshooting guides, technical standards, implementation checklists, customer documentation, and knowledge base content.
- Provide clear customer and internal communication during escalations, changes, incidents, and technical improvement work.
- Mentor Level 1 and Level 2 technical personnel through case review, knowledge sharing, documentation, and practical troubleshooting guidance.
- Participate in the after-hours on-call rotation and assist outside normal role boundaries when operational priorities require support.
Qualifications
Required
- Five or more years of professional experience in managed IT services, systems administration, Microsoft cloud administration, technical operations, or a related technical support role.
- Three or more years of hands-on experience administering and supporting Microsoft 365 and related Microsoft cloud services.
- Senior-level proficiency with Microsoft 365 administration, Entra ID, Conditional Access, Exchange Online, Teams, SharePoint Online, OneDrive, Intune, Windows Autopilot, Defender, Purview, Azure administration, and Microsoft 365 service health, alerting, audit, and reporting.
- PowerShell proficiency, including the ability to create, review, modify, test, document, and safely execute administrative scripts.
- Working knowledge of Windows Server, Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP, networking, VPN, backup, virtualization, file services, and other infrastructure dependencies affecting Microsoft cloud services.
- Demonstrated ability to resolve complex technical issues, perform root-cause analysis, document findings, communicate professionally, and manage competing priorities with limited supervision.
- Experience supporting security-related technical investigations, containment, remediation, and configuration improvements.
- Ability to create accurate runbooks, procedures, incident summaries, knowledge base content, and technical documentation.
- Ability and willingness to participate in after-hours on-call rotation.
Preferred
- Previous experience working for a managed service provider.
- Experience supporting Microsoft 365 E5 customer environments, Microsoft Defender, Microsoft Purview, and compliance-sensitive customers.
- Experience with Microsoft Graph, Azure Automation, Power Automate, Power Platform administration, Microsoft Sentinel, Copilot administration, or Copilot Studio.
- Additional Microsoft certifications related to Microsoft 365, identity, endpoint management, security, compliance, or Azure.
- Degree in a technology-related field or an equivalent combination of education, certification, and professional experience.
