Job summary

Amentum is seeking a highly experienced Senior Systems/Infrastructure Engineer to support our McLean, VA customer in enterprise Microsoft environments, including Active Directory, Exchange, SQL Server, and Cisco networking. The role requires a TS/SCI with Polygraph clearance and a focus on designing, implementing, securing, and documenting mission-critical systems in regulated environments.

Strong mentorship and cross-team collaboration are essential.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of enterprise IT infrastructure experience.
• 7+ years of systems engineering in a Microsoft enterprise environment.
• TS/SCI with Polygraph clearance required.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and support enterprise Microsoft infrastructure.
• Administer AD, Exchange, SQL Server, backup platforms, and Cisco network infrastructure.
• Maintain compliance through assessments, auditing, and continuous monitoring.
• Document processes and system artifacts for internal and customer review.
• Lead vulnerability remediation and patch management efforts (POA&Ms).
• Support disaster recovery and business continuity planning via backups and restores.
• Mentor junior staff and serve as senior escalation resource.
• Coordinate with cybersecurity, networking, DB, server, and management teams.
• Ensure infrastructure is secure, available, and properly documented.
