Position Summary

The Senior Microsoft Applications Administrator plays a strategic role in advancing Empower’s enterprise digital workplace experience through the optimization and expansion of collaboration tools, space management platforms, and smart workplace technologies. This individual contributor leads high-impact initiatives across Microsoft Places, Microsoft 365, and legacy business systems to ensure seamless integration, scalable adoption, and continuous innovation. By aligning digital tools with employee needs and operational goals, the Senior Microsoft Applications Administrator helps create a flexible, productive, and technology-enabled environment that supports Empower’s mission to deliver affordable, life-changing medication to 300 million people living healthier, happier lives.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Leads enterprise-wide configuration, integration, and enhancement of Microsoft Places, ensuring alignment with Empower’s hybrid workplace strategy, facilities planning, and employee collaboration needs.
  • Manages complex user access, group policies, and platform configurations across Microsoft 365 applications, leveraging Active Directory (AD), Azure AD, and automation tools to ensure secure, scalable operations.
  • Drives digital workplace innovation by evaluating emerging Microsoft technologies—including Viva, Power Platform, AD, and SharePoint Framework—to streamline communication, space utilization, and employee engagement.
  • Collaborates with stakeholders in People Operations, Facilities, and Compliance to define digital workplace requirements and deliver solutions that meet evolving enterprise needs.
  • Owns the roadmap for assigned platforms, coordinating cross-functional rollout efforts, developing support resources, and delivering training to maximize platform adoption and business value.

While performing the responsibilities of the job, the employee is required to talk and hear. The employee is often required to remain in a stationary position for a significant amount of the workday and frequently use their hands and fingers to handle or feel in order to access, input, and retrieve information from the computer and other office productivity devices. The employee is regularly required to move about the office and around the corporate campus. The employee is regularly required to stand, walk, reach with arms and hands, climb or balance, and to stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl.

  • Demonstrated success leading enterprise-wide deployments or enhancements of Microsoft Places, Microsoft Teams, SharePoint, and related smart workplace tools.

Experience and Qualifications
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in IT systems administration, Microsoft 365 platform ownership, or digital workplace technology roles supporting medium to large enterprise environments.
  • Requires a Bachelor’s degree in information technology, computer science, systems engineering, or a related field.
  • Microsoft Certified: Modern Desktop Administrator Associate required; Microsoft 365 Certified: Enterprise Administrator Expert or Microsoft Certified: Teams Administrator Associate strongly preferred.
