Job summary

Vivodyne in San Francisco seeks a Senior Engineer for the Microfluidics & Applications team to fabricate microfluidic devices, perform QC, and run cell culture workflows on our automated platform.

You will work across fabrication, biology, and automation, translating SOPs into scalable protocols and supporting high-throughput capabilities. A related bachelor’s degree and 3–5 years of hands-on experience are required.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related engineering/biomedical field with 3–5 years of experience.
  • Hands-on experience fabricating microfluidic devices (PDMS, thermoplastics, glass).
  • Experience with mammalian cell culture and standard biological equipment.
  • Proficiency in Python for scripting, data acquisition, and analysis.
  • Familiarity with QC metrics, process documentation, and SOPs.

Responsibilities

  • Fabricate and assemble microfluidic devices with high precision.
  • Execute QC, track metrics, and develop improved fabrication methods.
  • Run biological workflows and validate manufacturing changes against biology.
  • Collaborate with hardware, software, and biology teams to advance automation.
  • Document processes, SOPs, and quality reports; mentor technicians.
