Job summary

AMERICAN SYSTEMS is seeking a Microelectronics SME to support the Office of the Under Secretary of War for Research and Engineering. The role focuses on strategic direction, modernization priorities, and coordination with government, industry, and academia to advance national security technology.

Qualified candidates have 15+ years in the S&T/RDT&E sector, a PhD in a relevant field, and an active TS/SCI clearance.

Qualifications

15 years of experience in the Scientific, Research, Development, Test, and Evaluation sector
PhD in a relevant hard science or engineering discipline
Demonstrated expertise in Microelectronics systems and tech development
Experience supporting the DoW RDT&E community and engaging with senior stakeholders
Must have active TS/SCI clearance; SAP experience preferred
U.S. Citizenship required for security clearance eligibility

Responsibilities

Support office leadership as a subject matter expert in Microelectronics technologies.
Advise senior DoW leadership on strategic direction, modernization priorities, and capability gaps.
Develop technology roadmaps, strategic assessments, and executive-level products.
Coordinate with the RDT&E community, government labs, industry, academia, and international partners.
Prepare briefings, reports, white papers, and other products for senior leadership decision‑making.
