Job summary

Sandia National Laboratories is seeking a Microelectronic/Semiconductor Test Technologist to join the compound semiconductor microelectronics team. You will perform a wide variety of circuit test, evaluation, and troubleshooting activities in world-class facilities to support national security missions.

On any given day you may develop test plans, assemble hardware, maintain instruments, coordinate with remote facilities, and document data from tests, while ensuring safety and compliance.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in Electrical or Electronics Technology or related STEM field and 1+ years of related experience.
• Willingness to travel up to one week per month to remote US facilities.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a DOE Q security clearance.

Responsibilities

• Work with senior staff to develop and document test plans.
• Assemble and inspect electronic hardware (e.g. printed circuit boards).
• Build, modify, and maintain a wide variety of electronic, electromechanical, and mechanical instruments, systems, or processes.
• Coordinate with shipping and receiving to transport hardware to and from remote facilities.
• Work with environmental and safety experts to identify, document, and mitigate potential hazards.
• Identify, acquire, and setup diagnostic instruments.
• Execute electrical circuit tests in a laboratory or radiation test facility setting.
• Assemble and distribute data packages from completed tests.
• Troubleshoot or diagnose circuit failures.
