Job summary

Pendulum is seeking a Senior Manager of Research and Development to lead key R&D projects from early development to commercialization, guiding bench scientists and cross-functional teams. This role blends hands-on science with people leadership in a fast-paced, collaborative environment, advancing microbiome-based products.

You’ll partner with marketing, data, and product teams, drive scientific rigor, manage budgets and milestones, and help shape a regulatory-compliant path to market for

Qualifications

• PhD in Microbiology, Immunology, Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, or a related field (or an MS with equivalent additional experience).
• 5–7 years of progressive R&D experience in biopharma/biotech, with at least 2–3 years in a management or team-leading role.
• Track record of high-quality achievement with increasing responsibilities, publications, patents, and/or successful products.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design, development, and optimization of microbiome products and delivery systems.
• Manage, mentor, and develop a team of scientists, fostering innovation and collaboration.
• Guide cross-functional projects, ensuring milestones, budgets, and external partnerships are aligned with business goals.
