Job summary

Dameron Hospital in Stockton is seeking an experienced Microbiology Unit Supervisor to plan, organize, and supervise microbiology operations, including bacteriology, mycobacteriology, mycology, parasitology, immunology, and media preparation. You will mentor technologists and trainees, ensure quality control, review procedures, and coordinate with pathologists and the Laboratory Director on new tests.

Candidates must have CA license in Clinical Microbiology or related field and at least two

Qualifications

• Two years equivalent to Clinical Microbiologist.
• Valid California license as Clinical Microbiologist, Clinical Laboratory Technologist, or Clinical Laboratory Scientist restricted to Clinical Microbiology.

Responsibilities

• Participates in complex analyses and evaluation of results.
• Instructs technologists and laboratory trainees in proper procedures; gives lectures and examinations.
• Maintains quality control in the unit; supervises preparation and maintenance of related records and reports.
• Keeps current with developments by reviewing literature and attending seminars.
• Maintains supply/equipment control; submits budget requests; consults with pathologists and Laboratory Director.
