Job summary
US Pharmacopeia is seeking a Principal Scientist, Microbiology, to lead the microbiology reference materials portfolio and drive the product development pipeline. The role requires expert leadership in method development, validation, and collaboration with stakeholders across production, quality, and standards teams.

Qualifications
- MS degree in Microbiology or related field with 10+ years of experience.
- PhD preferred with 12+ years in microbiology.
- Experience with product development of microbial products.
- Familiarity with regulatory filings (WHO, FDA, ICH) and related guidance.
Responsibilities
- Provide scientific leadership for microbiology reference materials and standards portfolio.
- Lead studies, method development, validation strategies, and product characterization.
- Identify and develop new microbiology reference materials and establish an innovation pipeline.
- Collaborate with documentary standards scientists for strategy and decision making.
- Lead cross-functional teams through complex product development initiatives.
- Provide mentorship and technical guidance to scientists and staff.
- Build partnerships with internal/external stakeholders to advance portfolio.
- Represent USP as a scientific leader through publications and conferences.
