Job summary

GlaxoSmithKline is seeking a QC Senior Scientist - Microbiology to lead microbiological testing of drug products and materials, review data, and trend analyses. The role supports regulatory submissions, equipment management, and team lab duties in a GMP environment.

The position requires open availability with some weekend work and independence, allied with collaboration across Quality, Manufacturing, and Technical Operations. You will mentor analysts and contribute to audits and CAPA activities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor or Master in Microbiology or related Life Science with hands-on GMP-regulated microbiology experience.
• Experience in GMP/GxP pharmaceutical/biotech environments.
• Experience performing Bioburden and BET testing.

Responsibilities

• Conduct microbiological testing of laboratory samples (raw materials, drug product, drug substance, in-process materials).
• Complete bioburden and BET testing per procedures and compendial requirements.
• Carry out routine and non-routine testing for quality disposition in manufacturing operations.
• Author and review SOPs, URS, and controlled documents.
• Lead investigations, deviations, and troubleshooting with minimal supervision.
• Mentor junior team members and support internal/external audits.
