Job summary

SGS is seeking a Microbiologist III to conduct validated microbiological analyses and supervise study directions in a regulated lab environment in Lincolnshire, IL. You will prepare media, execute procedures per USP/FDA/ISO, and train incoming staff while maintaining cGMP and precise documentation.

Responsibilities include scheduling analyses, QA tasks, data entry, and mentoring junior microbiologists to uphold quality and regulatory standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Microbiology or related sciences required.
• 5+ years of experience in a regulated commercial lab environment.
• Experience with sterility testing (USP <71>).
• Thorough knowledge of scientific principles.

Responsibilities

• Prepare media and reagents for microbiological analyses.
• Conduct analyses according to USP, EP ASTM, AOAC, FDA, EPA and client procedures.
• Schedule analyses to meet deadlines and ensure quality.
• Mentor and train new microbiologists; document activities in LIMS and notebooks.
• Maintain cGMP compliance and ensure accurate recordkeeping.
