Placements24 is seeking a Senior Microbiologist with Environmental Monitoring expertise for a QA role in Queenstown, Eastern Cape. Lead environmental monitoring programs, perform complex microbiology tests, and ensure regulatory compliance in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

The candidate will design methods, analyze data, and mentor a team while upholding cGMP, ISO, and quality standards to safeguard product quality and patient safety.

Qualifikationen

• MSc or PhD in Microbiology, Applied Microbiology, or a related biological science field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in industrial microbiology with strong environmental monitoring focus.
• Extensive knowledge of aseptic techniques, microbial identification, and enumeration.
• Hands-on experience with common microbiology equipment (incubators, biosafety cabinets, microscopes, colony counters).
• Familiarity with cGMP, FDA, and EMA regulatory guidelines.
• Strong statistical analysis skills for environmental monitoring data.

Aufgaben

• Design, implement, and manage environmental monitoring programs for manufacturing facilities.
• Perform routine and specialized microbiological testing (air, surface, water).
• Identify, isolate, and characterize microorganisms in manufacturing environments.
• Conduct microbial enumeration and sterility testing on materials and products.
• Investigate excursions and OOS results, determine root causes, implement corrective actions.
• Develop and validate microbiological methods and sampling plans.
• Maintain lab records and prepare reports for regulatory compliance.
• Ensure adherence to cGMP, ISO, and other guidelines.
• Calibrate and maintain microbiology lab equipment.
• Train and mentor junior staff on best practices.
