Job summary

VB Spine, LLC in Leesburg, FL is seeking a Biological Safety Specialist to apply microbiology expertise to regulatory and QA activities and to oversee lab testing related to reprocessing, cleaning, and biocompatibility.

You will support change control, NC/CAPA activities, and participate in audits while mentoring team members in Biological Safety to ensure compliance and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Microbiology or related field.
• 3+ years in quality or regulatory affairs environments.
• 2+ years microbiology focusing on Cleaning, Biocompatibility, and Sterilization.
• 2+ years device/pharma microbiological or biological testing/QA/R&D experience.
• Experience with regulatory agencies (FDA, etc.).

Responsibilities

• Apply advanced microbiology concepts to regulatory and QA activities.
• Ensure biocompatibility and testing for products and materials.
• Oversee lab testing related to reprocessing, cleaning, and biocompatibility.
• Support change control board activities and internal/external audits (FDA, BSI, GMED).
• Own NC/CAPA activities with root cause analysis.
• Mentor and train team members in Biological Safety.
