Elbit America, Inc. is seeking a Principal Metrology Engineer in Roanoke, VA to serve as a technical lead for advanced surface-characterization methods.

You will develop, operate, and interpret measurements from high-precision analytical tools to support materials development and process optimization. Responsibilities include designing experiments, analyzing data, and guiding cross-functional teams in R&D, product development, and manufacturing.

Qualifications

• PhD in materials science, chemistry, physics, or related field or MS with 5+ years of relevant experience or BS with 8+ years of relevant experience.

Responsibilities

• Operate, maintain, and develop measurement protocols for XPS, SEM, AFM, Auger spectroscopy, LEED and RHEED.
• Design and execute surface analysis experiments for materials, coatings, interfaces, and thin films.
• Analyze complex data sets and apply quantitative methods to extract physical and chemical insights.
• Interpret results with solid understanding of surface science and materials chemistry.
• Troubleshoot instrumentation, coordinate maintenance and ensure high quality measurements.
