Job summary

Staffing Support Specialists is seeking a Skilled Metal Worker in Milwaukee, WI. The role requires 10+ years of hands-on experience on the shop floor of a metalworking facility, with familiarity with tube/rod bending, cutting, forming, and related processes.

You will read blueprints and work orders, perform machine set-ups across multiple machines, conduct precision quality checks with calipers and micrometers, and train operators. The shift is 1st, 6:00am-2:30pm, with pay $30-$40 per hour.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of hands-on shop floor experience in metalworking.
• Familiarity with metal fabrication equipment and processes.
• Ability to perform set-ups across multiple machines.
• Strong blueprint reading and basic GD&T knowledge.
• Proficiency with precision measurement tools (calipers, micrometers, height gauges).

Responsibilities

• Perform machine set-ups across tube/rod bending and fabrication equipment.
• Read blueprints, work orders, and specifications to set up jobs correctly.
• Conduct precision quality checks during production runs using calipers, micrometers and height gauges.
• Operate CNC and manual bending, cutting and forming equipment to tight tolerances.
• Conduct secondary operations such as deburring, cutting, drilling, or light assembly.
• Train operators on machine operation, set-up standards and quality expectations.
• Troubleshoot production floor issues to minimize downtime and scrap.
• Identify material or quality issues before a production run.
• Maintain a clean, safe work area and follow shop safety standards.
• Communicate status, issues and timelines with leads and supervisors.
