Job summary

Grafana Labs, a fully remote company, is hiring an engineer for the Internal Engineering Platform's Foundations 'Metal' squad. You will build and provision the physical environment, storage, networking, and Kubernetes clusters outside public Cloud, delivering a Kubernetes control plane to the rest of Engineering.

The role focuses on distributed systems, Go/Python/Shell, owning the full lifecycle from design docs to testing, and participating in on-call rotations.

Qualifications

• Experience with distributed systems and building scalable infrastructure.
• Proficient in Go, Python, and Shell.
• Familiarity with Kubernetes, Cloud-native tooling and on-call rotations.

Responsibilities

• Manage the physical “Metal” environment from bare metal to Kubernetes.
• Manage cluster networking components, load balancing and DNS.
• Coordinate autoscaling and scheduling for clusters.
• Maintain Crossplane compositions and Terraform modules for CSP resources.
• Collaborate with Grafana Cloud users to understand needs and invest in capabilities.
