Job summary

Turner Construction Company seeks an experienced Superintendent – Mechanical-Electrical for a Detroit project. You will lead subcontractors, coordinate MEP systems, enforce safety, manage schedule and budget, and supervise junior staff on site.

Responsibilities include coordinating with owners and design teams, reviewing changes with engineers, and ensuring quality and compliance across all trades.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or at least four years of formal engineering or architectural experience and a minimum of six years of mechanical/electrical/plumbing construction experience required, or an equivalent combination of education, training and/or experience.
• Knowledge of building construction, means and methods, scheduling and cost control procedures, general contract, general conditions, subcontract documents, drawings and specifications.
• Specific knowledge of Mechanical and Electrical Systems.
• Thorough knowledge of building information modeling and its use in coordination of the Mechanical and Electrical systems and other project systems.
• Proven written and verbal communication abilities; proficiency with computer applications, including Microsoft Office suite.
• Ability to read, understand and interpret contract documents, drawings, specifications, scopes of work and project schedule.
• Demonstrated leadership and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate work of subcontractors for MEP systems.
• Ensure safety, schedule delivery, quality, and budget adherence.
• Supervise Assistant Superintendents, Field Engineers and interns.
• Develop schedules and recovery plans to maintain schedule.
• Coordinate with owners, architects, and engineers on field issues.
• Manage billing, payments, and project cost tracking.
• Review changes with Project Engineer.
• Maintain daily MEPS progress records.
• Participate in preconstruction efforts.
