Velocity Search Group is seeking an experienced MEP Project Manager (Mechanical Engineering) to oversee mechanical engineering-focused MEP projects. You will manage all aspects from proposal development through construction closeout, ensuring compliance and quality. This role requires strong technical leadership, project management skills, and the ability to collaborate across various disciplines. A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering and a minimum of 10 years of experience are required, with a Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred. The position offers a dynamic work environment in Washington, D.C.
Qualifications
Minimum of 10 years of progressively responsible mechanical engineering and project management experience.
Experience delivering mechanical/MEP projects through construction strongly preferred.
Responsibilities
Manage mechanical engineering–focused MEP projects from proposal development through project closeout.
Lead mechanical engineering design efforts, ensuring compliance with codes and standards.
Communicate project requirements and resolve issues with clients and contractors.
Support business development by building client relationships and developing proposals.
Skills
Thorough knowledge of mechanical systems
Strong understanding of HVAC and plumbing
Project management skills
Excellent communication skills
Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel
Working knowledge of AutoCAD
Ability to manage multiple projects
Strong organizational skills
Education
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering
