Job summary

Mortenson is seeking a Senior MEP Project Manager I to lead and manage Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) projects on medium to large scopes. You will drive quality, timeliness, and safety, mentor project teams, and build strong customer relationships through exceptional service.

The role requires a bachelor’s degree in a relevant field, up to 100% travel, and a proven track record in construction management.

• Bachelor’s degree in Construction, Civil, Architectural, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering or equivalent field experience.
• Strong communication and listening skills with openness to diverse input.
• Ability to travel up to 100% to project sites and offices.

Responsibilities

• Manage project financial health, including projections, budgeting, and invoicing.
• Oversee subcontractor and supplier selections, billings, and contract management.
• Direct 3‑D coordination and commissioning processes, resolving conflicts and testing.
• Lead project closeout, including manuals, model turnover, and training.
• Supervise and develop Assistant Project Manager(s) and Project Engineer(s).
• Serve as main owner contact, addressing site concerns and building relationships.
• Manage change orders and secure necessary approvals.
• Ensure quality, risk, safety, and compliance throughout the project.

Responsibilities

• Manage overall project financial health, including projections, budgeting, and invoicing
• Oversee subcontractor and supplier selections, billings, and contract management
• Direct 3-D coordination and commissioning processes, ensuring conflict resolution and testing
• Lead project closeout activities, including manuals, model turnover, and training

Qualifications

The base pay range for this role is $144,300 - $216,500. (Actual range is higher for the following office locations: Denver, CO and Chicago, IL - 5%, Seattle, WA, and Portland, OR - 10%, Washington, D.C. - 12.5%).

Base pay is positioned within the range based on several factors including an individual’s knowledge, skills, and experience, with consideration given to internal equity. This position is eligible for Mortenson’s incentive plan.
