Job summary

CM & Associates Construction Management is seeking MEP Project Managers to lead CMA project teams in Newark, NJ and surrounding areas from conception through completion. Compensation is commensurate with experience, with a strong leadership requirement and field-team oversight to ensure safe, successful project completion.

Responsibilities include evaluating proposed MEP systems, coordinating buyouts, providing VE suggestions, reviewing drawings, and managing change orders.

Qualifications

• Degree in CM/Engineering/Architecture required.
• 5+ years as a technical specialist in construction/design fields.
• 5+ years’ experience managing all phases of construction work.

Responsibilities

• Analyze proposed MEP systems and comment accordingly.
• Buyout construction trades with estimating/project team.
• Review scopes and bid proposals.
• Provide Value Engineering suggestions.
• Assess lead times for equipment.
• Comment on phasing and scheduling of projects.
• Review drawings and specifications during Pre-Construction.
• Interface with contractors, CM/Supers, architects and engineers; update client senior management.
• Assist in change orders, contract interpretation, shop drawings/submittals, and other technical matters.
• Review shop drawings and MEP coordination with other trades.
• Supervise installation of systems and equipment.
• Coordinate testing and commissioning with sub-contractors, consultants and authorities.
