Nscale is the GPU cloud engineered for AI. We provide cost-effective, high-performance infrastructure for AI start-ups and large enterprise customers. Nscale enables AI-focused companies to achieve superior results by reducing the complexity of AI development. Our GPU cloud bolsters technical capabilities and directly supports strategic business outcomes, including cost management, rapid innovation, and environmental responsibility.

At Nscale, our Data Centre Construction and Delivery team turns greenfield sites into live, high-density AI compute — on schedule, to specification, and to the standards our customers depend on.

We thrive on a culture of relentless innovation, ownership, and accountability, where every team member takes pride in their work and drives it with excellence and urgency. As an Nscaler, you'll build trust through openness and transparency, where everyone is inspired to do their best work. If you join our team, you'll be contributing to building the technology that powers the future.

About the Role

We're looking for a highly experienced MEP Manager to act as Nscale's on-site technical authority for all mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems on a new, large-scale data centre build.

  • You’ll embed on-site alongside the General Construction Manager and serve as the owner's representative for the full MEP scope — from pre-construction coordination through installation, testing, commissioning, and acceptance.
  • You bring deep technical knowledge of mission-critical MEP systems, including UPS, switchgear, generators, cooling plant, and low-voltage infrastructure.
  • You’re comfortable holding the GC, MEP subcontractors, and equipment vendors accountable to the owner's standards, quality expectations, and schedule.
  • You’re a decisive operator who can work through ambiguity, sequence competing priorities across multiple active fronts, and elevate with clarity rather than noise.
  • This is a full-time, on-site role, Monday through Friday, with weekend availability during system energization and commissioning milestones.
  • You’ll work in active construction and energized equipment environments, with strict adherence to electrical safety protocols and site PPE requirements. Travel to vendor FAT locations may be required.
  • The assignment is approximately 12 months. Duration varies by project scope, phasing, and delivery needs; extensions and follow-on assignments are common across our programme portfolio.
What You'll be Doing
  • Serve as the owner's on-site representative across all MEP scopes: electrical (medium and low voltage, switchgear, UPS, generators), mechanical (CRAC/CRAH, chilled water, cooling towers), and plumbing (domestic, process, fire suppression).
  • Attend and lead MEP coordination meetings, including BIM clash detection reviews and subcontractor prefabrication planning sessions.
  • Review MEP submittals, shop drawings, and RFIs for technical accuracy and compliance with project specifications.
  • Monitor MEP installation sequencing, quality, and code compliance across all active fronts.
  • Coordinate integration of MEP systems with IT and low-voltage infrastructure, raised floor layouts, and structural elements.
  • Oversee startup and pre-commissioning activities, working closely with the commissioning authority (CxA) and the owner's CX team.
  • Track and drive resolution of MEP-specific open items, punch list deficiencies, and Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs).
  • Attend Factory Acceptance Tests (FATs) and Site Acceptance Tests (SATs) for major equipment as required.
  • Provide daily and weekly MEP progress summaries to the General Construction Manager and the owner-side programme team.
  • Review change proposals related to MEP scope for technical validity and owner impact.
About You
  • 10+ years of MEP construction or commissioning experience, including at least 4 years in data centre or mission-critical environments.
  • Deep technical knowledge of critical power systems (switchgear, UPS, PDU, generators) and cooling infrastructure (chillers, cooling towers, CRAC/CRAH).
  • Experience with MEP BIM coordination (Revit MEP, Navisworks) and 3D clash resolution workflows.
  • Ability to read and interpret complex MEP drawings, single-line diagrams, P&IDs, and equipment submittals.
  • Procore experience required, for MEP submittals, RFIs, issue tracking, and commissioning logs.
  • Bluebeam Revu proficiency required, for MEP drawing markup and redline coordination.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • OSHA 30 certification required.
  • Integrity. You do the right thing when no one is watching, and you never misrepresent status, cost, or progress to protect yourself.
  • An ownership mentality. You treat the project as your own and hold yourself accountable without being told.
  • Respectful under pressure. You stay composed and professional with contractors, trades, and owner staff regardless of the circumstances.
  • Transparent communication. You surface problems early and honestly, and you never bury bad news.
  • A team-first attitude. Ego stays at the gate; the project and the people on it come first.
  • Reliability. You show up prepared, follow through on commitments, and do what you say you will do.

Technical skills can be taught. Character cannot. We actively seek references that speak to a candidate's character, not just their technical output.

Nice to Have
  • RCDD (Registered Communications Distribution Designer) or an equivalent credential.
  • PE license (Mechanical or Electrical), or equivalent field experience.
  • Familiarity with ASHRAE TC 9.9 guidelines, BICSI standards, or Uptime Institute Tier requirements.
  • Experience with commissioning documentation, including Cx plans, test procedures, and system verification reports.
Why this role matters

MEP is where a data centre is either built to perform or built to fail. Every megawatt we bring online depends on power and cooling systems that were coordinated correctly, installed correctly, and proven correctly before a single GPU is racked. As the owner's technical expert on the ground, you are the person who makes sure that happens — protecting the schedule, the capital, and the reliability our customers build their businesses on.
