Job summary

Hill International Inc. seeks an experienced MEP Inspector in Houston, TX to inspect architectural, mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems on construction sites.

You will verify contractor work against plans, specs, and codes, monitor safety and schedules, and prepare detailed field reports and documentation. You will review submittals and tests, witness commissioning activities, and support closeout with punch lists and turnover packages.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years inspecting architectural, mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems on large projects.
• Experience with building codes and project documentation.
• Ability to read multi-discipline drawings and specifications.
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform inspections of architectural, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and related systems.
• Verify contractor work complies with plans, specs, and codes.
• Inspect finishes, envelopes, roofing, doors, windows, partitions, and interiors.
• Monitor construction activities for quality and safety, track schedules.
• Review installation methods and materials for contract compliance.
• Identify deficiencies and communicate corrective actions.
• Coordinate with project teams to resolve field issues.
• Attend meetings and report construction progress and findings.
• Prepare detailed inspection reports and daily logs.
• Review RFIs, submittals, change orders, samples, and tests.
• Witness testing, startup, commissioning, and functional performance.
• Support closeout activities including punch lists and turnover.
• Ensure environmental, health, and safety compliance.
• Track risks to quality, cost, schedule, or performance.
