Job summary

Neko Health AB is seeking a Senior Manager Lead, MEP and Fire Systems Engineer to be Neko's technical authority for mechanical, electrical, plumbing, fire protection, and life safety across the U.S. clinic portfolio.

External engineering firms produce and seal the design: you decide whether that design is correct, buildable, defensible to the authority having jurisdiction, and worth what it costs. This is a senior individual contributor role and the first dedicated engineering hire in U.S.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Architectural, or Fire Protection Engineering.
• 12+ years of engineering experience, including owner/developer side.
• Track record leading designs on client engagements.
• Deep knowledge of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, fire protection and life safety.
• Ability to review and challenge external consultants' work.
• Direct experience with code officials and plan reviewers across multiple jurisdictions.
• Strong cost fluency to price concepts and defend positions.
• Excellent written and verbal communication.

Responsibilities

• Publish a basis of design for MEP, fire protection, and life safety that consultants test against.
• Set a single engineering deliverable standard and acceptance criteria across firms.
• Build a portfolio dataset covering loads, capacities, and system costs for reviews.
• Review landlord work letters and base building conditions; translate findings into redlines.
• Own Neko's fire protection and life safety positions across the portfolio.
• Lead value engineering on MEP and fire scope during concept and design development.
• Turn engineering data into benchmarking tools and drive analytics within the team.
