Job summary

Blue Origin is seeking a Senior Manager of MEP Facility Engineering to lead a multidisciplinary team of mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and process piping engineers. This role designs facility systems and ensures health and reliability of existing systems across multiple Blue Origin locations.

The Senior Manager will oversee technical quality, execution, and professional growth, partnering with operations, manufacturing, and program stakeholders to deliver facility infrastructure that enables

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical, electrical, or related engineering.
• 10+ years in engineering, including facilities or MEP design.
• 3+ years leading or managing engineering teams.
• Experience across two or more MEP disciplines.
• Experience leading distributed or multi-site teams.
• Strong knowledge of building codes and the design/construction lifecycle.

Responsibilities

• Lead, mentor, and develop a team of mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and process piping engineers across multiple locations.
• Oversee design of new/modified facility systems (HVAC, electrical power/distribution, plumbing, process piping) for safety, code compliance, constructibility and cost-effectiveness.
• Monitor health of existing systems; drive proactive maintenance and reliability improvements.
• Establish and enforce engineering standards, design gates, and QA processes across sites.
• Balance workload and prioritize to meet schedules, budgets, and headcount constraints.
• Collaborate with operations, manufacturing, program management, and construction teams to align scope with needs and milestones.
• Review/approve deliverables; involve licensed PEs where applicable.
• Support capital planning, project scoping, and resource forecasting for facility expansion.
• Recruit, hire, and onboard engineering talent to scale the team.
• Travel between sites to support team and field projects.
