Job summary

Turner & Townsend in the United States is seeking a Senior MEP Cost Manager to lead detailed cost reviews for electrical and mechanical systems on major construction projects. You will present findings to clients and assist in price negotiations to ensure effective cost management.

The role requires a strong background in cost management, estimating, and value engineering, with experience supporting large-scale programs.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in construction management, cost management, quantity surveying, engineering or field related to construction.
  • Minimum 5-7 years of relevant experience
  • Experience in a construction cost management role such as Cost Manager, Quantity Surveyor, Estimator, Cost Engineer, Project Engineer, Project Cost Controls etc.
  • Experience supporting large scale construction projects and programs
  • Good knowledge of construction industry technical matters, such as value management and value engineering.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare detailed and accurate cost estimates for electrical systems in construction projects.
  • Estimating and negotiating change orders throughout the construction lifecycle.
  • Reconcile changes and assist the general contractor to ensure that their data is accurate.
  • Prepare written comments to the general contractor’s submissions, including the executive summary.
  • Coordinate all sources of cost information for cost discussions and suppliers direct from NPA, subs, quantities from A/Es.
  • Manage cost checks and carry out valuations on larger projects.
  • Participate effectively with post-contract cost variances and the change of control processes.
  • Reviewing contractor and subcontractor pricing and leading negotiations on behalf of the client to drive fair contract prices.

Job Description

Turner & Townsendare seeking an experiencedSenior MEP Cost Managerto join our team. The ideal candidate will provide detailed andaccuratecost reviews for electrical systems and/or mechanical systems and present findings to the client and assist in price negotiations for construction projects, ensuring effective cost management and project success.

  • Review project plans and specifications todeterminethe scopeof work and required materials.
  • Analyze project requirements andprovidevalue engineering options.
  • Perform cost risk analysis and provide input into value engineering.
  • Communicate and collaborate with clients, contractors, and other stakeholders.
  • Utilize industry-specific estimating software and tools to prepare estimates.
  • Provideestimating advice, guidance, and analysis to project stakeholders.
  • Develop andmaintainup-to-date knowledge of industry-specific estimating processes and methodologies.
  • Prepare formal estimating reports, including quantity, cost, escalation, and other assumptions and clarifications.
  • Mentor and support junior estimators, fostering their professional development and promoting a culture of continuous learning and improvement.
  • SOX control responsibilities may be part of this role, which are to be adhered to where applicable.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in construction management, cost management, quantity surveying,engineeringor field related to construction.
  • Minimum 5-7 years of relevant experience
  • Experience in a construction cost management role such as Cost Manager, Quantity Surveyor, Estimator, Cost Engineer, Project Engineer, Project Cost Controls etc.
  • Experience providing conceptual estimating services and/or pre-construction services at a construction management or related firm.
  • Experience supporting large scale construction projects and programs
  • Goodknowledge of construction industry technical matters, such as value management and value engineering.
Additional Information

*On-site presence and requirements may change depending on our client's needs.

The base salary range for this role is $130K-$165K, depending on years of experience. This range reflects the company's good faith estimate of the base salary for this position at the time of the posting. Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, skills, qualifications, and internal equity.

  • In addition to base salary, employees may be eligible for bonuses and a comprehensive benefits package
