Turner & Townsend is seeking an experienced Senior MEP Cost Manager to join our Las Vegas team. The role focuses on detailed cost reviews for electrical and mechanical systems and supports price negotiations to ensure value and project success.

The ideal candidate holds a relevant bachelor’s degree, 5–7 years of construction cost management experience, and strong skills in estimating, value engineering, and client liaison. On-site position with a competitive base salary and benefits.

  • 5–7 years of relevant experience in cost management or estimation.
  • Experience in a construction cost management role (cost manager, QS, estimator, cost engineer, project engineer).
  • Experience supporting large-scale construction projects and programs.
  • Knowledge of value management and value engineering.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare cost estimates for electrical and mechanical systems in construction projects.
  • Estimate and negotiate change orders through the construction lifecycle.
  • Reconcile changes with general contractor data to ensure accuracy.
  • Prepare written comments and executive summaries for contractor submissions.
  • Coordinate all sources of cost information for cost discussions and suppliers.

Job Description

Turner & Townsendare seeking an experiencedSenior MEP Cost Managerto join our team. The ideal candidate will provide detailed andaccuratecost reviews for electrical systems and/or mechanical systems and present findings to the client and assist in price negotiations for construction projects, ensuring effective cost management and project success.

Responsibilities
  • Prepare detailed andaccuratecost estimates for electrical systems in construction projects.
  • Estimating and negotiating change orders throughout the construction lifecycle.
  • Reconcile changes andassistthe general contractor to ensure thattheir data isaccurate.
  • Prepare written commentstothe general contractor’s submissions, including the executive summary.
  • Coordinate all sources of cost information for cost discussions and suppliers direct from NPA, subs, quantities from A/Es.
  • Manage cost checks and carry out valuations on larger projects. Completetimely,accuratecost checking and valuation processes.
  • Participate effectively withpost-contractcost variances and thechange ofcontrol processes.
  • Reviewing contractor and subcontractor pricing and leading negotiations on behalf of the client to drive fair contract prices.
  • Display excellence in leadership and service deliveryon commissions is in line with the conditions of appointment
  • Be a role model that drives a one business culture that achieves great outcomes by striking the right balance for our people, clients, stakeholders, and society.
  • Review project plans and specifications todeterminethe scopeof work and required materials.
  • Analyze project requirements andprovidevalue engineering options.
  • Perform cost risk analysis and provide input into value engineering.
  • Communicate and collaborate with clients, contractors, and other stakeholders.
  • Utilize industry-specific estimating software and tools to prepare estimates.
  • Provideestimating advice, guidance, and analysis to project stakeholders.
  • Develop andmaintainup-to-date knowledge of industry-specific estimating processes and methodologies.
  • Prepare formal estimating reports, including quantity, cost, escalation, and other assumptions and clarifications.
  • Mentor and support junior estimators, fostering their professional development and promoting a culture of continuous learning and improvement.
  • SOX control responsibilities may be part of this role, which are to be adhered to where applicable.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in construction management, cost management, quantity surveying,engineeringor field related to construction.
  • Minimum 5-7 years of relevant experience
  • Experience in a construction cost management role such as Cost Manager, Quantity Surveyor, Estimator, Cost Engineer, Project Engineer, Project Cost Controls etc.
  • Experience providing conceptual estimating services and/or pre-construction services at a construction management or related firm.
  • Experience supporting large scale construction projects and programs
  • Goodknowledge of construction industry technical matters, such as value management and value engineering.
Additional Information

*On-site presence and requirements may change depending on our client's needs.

The base salary range for this role is $130K-$165K, depending on years of experience. This range reflects the company's good faith estimate of the base salary for this position at the time of the posting. Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, skills, qualifications, and internal equity. In addition to base salary, employees may be eligible for bonuses and a comprehensive benefits package
