Job summary

U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs in Hawaii seeks a Supervisory Social Worker-Mental Health to oversee clinical social work services at the CBOC. Duties include supervision of the BHIP/MHICM/HUDVASH teams, program development, and strategic planning to meet veterans’ needs.

The role requires a master’s in social work, state licensure, and at least GS-12 experience with advanced practice skills. The position emphasizes leadership, ethics, and quality improvement within a federal healthcare

Qualifications

• Master's degree in social work from a CSWE-accredited program.
• Licensed to independently practice social work at the master’s level.
• CSWE accreditation must be current; degree cannot be substituted.
• Proficiency in spoken and written English as required by VA rules.
• One year of experience at the GS-12 level or equivalent is required.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day operations for CBOC social work services.
• Provide clinical supervision to licensed/social work staff.
• Develop and implement short- and long-term goals aligned with the program plan.
• Plan, organize, and evaluate clinical services and staff performance.
• Ensure compliance with NASW Code of Ethics and VA requirements.
