Job summary

Baptist Health in Little Rock, AR is hiring a Lead Mental Health Security Officer for day shift (7a-3p, Mon-Fri). The LMHSO provides immediate safety to patients and staff on the mental health wards and coordinates with nursing staff to de-escalate crises.

Duties include 1:1 observation, item searches, restraint assistance, contraband checks, admissions screening, and reporting changes in patient conditions.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Bachelor's degree preferred or equivalent security experience.
• Valid Arkansas driver’s license and ability to pass an MVR check.
• Be at least 21 years old.
• Must not use nicotine or tobacco in any form.
• Able to pass a background/MVR check.
• Demonstrates knowledge of security protocols.
• Knowledge of mental health treatment and de-escalation training provided by Baptist Health.

Responsibilities

• Provide immediate safety and security to patients and staff on mental health wards.
• De-escalate crisis situations in real time.
• Assist in restraints when necessary and safe.
• Perform 1:1 observation and monitor patient conditions.
• Search for contraband and belongings; screen new admissions.
