Job Overview:

The Senior Mental Health Clinician provides clinical assessment, crisis intervention, evaluations for hospitalization, and crisis service coordination for children, adolescents and their families residing in Monmouth County, within the context of the Children s Crisis Intervention Services (CCIS) system. This role is responsible for reporting identified safety issues such as hazardous environments (i.e. damaged floors/walls/ceiling tiles/unsecured areas) and medical errors, etc. This role also provides direct education to the community via in-person and virtual presentations and represents at county meetings.

Qualifications:

Required:

  • MA/MS Degree in social work, psychology or counseling
  • 2 years prior experience/training working with children, adolescents and families in the mental health setting
  • Experience/training in crisis intervention and assessment
  • Public speaking

Certifications and Licenses Required:

  • BLS through the American Heart Association
  • Possess and maintain a valid NJ State Driver's License

Scheduling Requirements:

  • Full-Time
  • Evening Shift
  • 40 hours per week

Essential Functions:

  • Performs clinical assessment
  • Provides crisis intervention
  • Evaluates for hospitalization
  • Crisis service coordination for children, adolescents and their families in Monmouth County within the context of the Children's Crisis Intervention Services (CCIS) system
  • Provides educational services to provider agencies to include schools, community providers, county/state DMHAS representatives, and others as requested
  • Prepares statistical reporting related to grant management requirements
  • Represents CFCC position at county Childrens Systems Review Committee (CSRC) and Childrens Interagency Coordinating Council (CIACC) on a monthly basis as determined by committee chairpersons
  • Collaborates with provider agencies to coordinate care across systems as needed
  • Attends yearly Monmouth County DBH site review
  • Performs other duties as required by the department
