Job summary

Lila Sciences is seeking a Scientist II/Senior Melt Polymer Scientist to lead the development of solid polymer formulations and high-throughput melt processing. You will work at the intersection of polymer science, formulation chemistry, and an autonomous science platform to generate data guiding adhesive formulation and materials discovery.

Ideal candidates have a PhD with 3+ years in polymer melt formulation and hands-on extrusion experience.

Qualifications

• PhD in Polymer Science, Materials Science, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering or related field with 3+ years postdoc/industry experience.

Responsibilities

• Lead AI-driven experimental design to optimize solid polymer formulations.
• Develop melt rheology methods to assess processability and performance.
• Conduct polymer characterization (Mw, Tm, crystallinity) to guide strategy.
• Design mechanical tests (peel, shear, tack, bond strength) for formulation evaluation.
• Collaborate to integrate outputs into autonomous workflows and ML datasets.
• Troubleshoot workflows and maintain high-throughput capabilities.
• Maintain compliant lab records and safety standards.
