Job summary

Johnson & Johnson Innovative Medicine in Irving, TX is seeking a Staff Engineer, R&D, with hybrid work arrangements (3 days in office, 2 days remote) to lead design and development of breast implants and related devices. You will drive development projects, ensure regulatory submissions, and partner with cross-functional teams to deliver clinically impactful innovations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical or biomedical engineering or related field.
• 8+ years of proven experience in research, development and commercialization of medical devices or regulated fields.
• Understanding of Design Control (e.g., CFR 820.30) and statistics.
• Proficient in MS Office and PLM systems (Windchill).

Responsibilities

• Lead design, development and manufacturing of breast implants and tissue expanders under regulatory requirements.
• Apply engineering principles to support R&D and design transfer to commercialization.
• Lead projects and manage timelines, budgets and compliance with GMP and GDP.
• Interact with KOLs, surgeons and marketing to identify unmet needs for viable products.
• Coordinate with cross-functional teams across supply chain, manufacturing and external suppliers.
