Job summary

Molina Healthcare is seeking a senior financial analyst to provide strategic financial support for the Medicare line of business across multiple markets. You will oversee forecasting, reporting, and trend analysis, and collaborate with operational, clinical, and market teams to drive cost management and value-based care initiatives.

The role requires 3+ years in finance, a bachelor's degree, strong analytical skills, and proficiency with Excel; SQL experience is a plus.

Qualifications

• At least 3 years of finance experience or equivalent.
• Bachelor's degree in finance or related field or equivalent experience.
• Strong critical-thinking and attention to detail.
• Ability to collaborate with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Strong time-management skills to manage simultaneous projects.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and Excel (VLOOKUPs and pivot tables).
• SQL skills for data extraction, validation, analysis, and reporting (preferred).
• Advanced Excel skills for modeling, forecasting, and trend analysis (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain forecasts, financial models, and projections related to Medicare medical costs and capitation.
• Monitor and analyze medical cost and utilization trends across Medicare markets.
• Evaluate financial performance of capitation and risk-based arrangements via variance analysis.
• Support value-based care initiatives by measuring provider performance and financial impact.
• Prepare recurring financial reports, forecasts, and analyses for market and executive leadership.
• Partner with operational, clinical, and market teams to analyze financial performance and develop cost/quality improvement recommendations.
• Utilize large healthcare and financial datasets for ad hoc analyses and decision support.
• Present findings and recommendations to management and drive improvements in reporting and forecasting processes.
