Job summary

AREA 23 seeks an Associate Director, Medical Strategy in New York to lead medical strategy for assigned brands and supervise a small team. You will develop high-level communication plans, drive medical research for pitches, and mentor staff as part of a senior leadership group.

You will interact with clients, KOLs and internal teams to craft strategic medical insights, present pitches, and advance opportunities in new business opportunities.

Qualifications

• Advanced Clinical/Scientific degree with 4+ years of relevant industry experience.
• Ability to clearly communicate medical concepts, insights, and POVs to clients, KOLs, and internal teams.
• Collaborative approach to cross-functional work.
• Experience supervising direct reports and supporting career growth.
• Project management: estimate workflow hours, complete timesheets and expense reports.
• Versatility in core medical education deliverables incorporating brand strategy.
• Strategic storytelling and confident presentation/moderation skills.

Responsibilities

• Critically review content and apply disease state, clinical knowledge and strategic skills to all brands.
• Lead discussions, provide strategic medical recommendations, and identify opportunities to enhance brand communications.
• Participate in senior leader client meetings, contribute to workshops, and recommend new initiatives.
• Develop medical insights, craft pitch presentations, and identify the medical hook for pitches.
• Lead execution of medical strategy, facilitate proprietary workshops, and serve as part of the core pitch team.
• Interact with internal teams, clients, and HCPs to meet objectives and ensure continuity.
• Proactively identify opportunities and execute medical strategies.
