Job summary

Vertex Inc. seeks a Medical Science Liaison to serve as a scientific liaison to the medical and academic communities, establishing relationships with HCPs and disseminating clinical information about Vertex compounds.

The MSL will shape the medical plan by providing external stakeholder insights and contributing to Medical Affairs strategy. Strong communication and regulatory compliance are essential, with travel up to 70% as required.

Qualifications

• Advanced clinical life sciences degree required (NP/PA) with terminal degree preferred (MD/DO/PharmD/PhD).
• Typically 1–2 years of MSL experience in pharma/biotech or equivalent.
• Ability to critically appraise medical literature and present data to diverse audiences.
• Proven ability to engage HCPs with scientific, ethical discussions.

Responsibilities

• Develop trusted relationships with medical and scientific Thought Leaders and HCPs.
• Apply Scientific Engagement Model principles to enhance interaction quality.
• Integrate medical plan priorities into engagements and capture feedback in CRM.
• Use CRM and analytics to document interactions and inform strategy.
• Present clinical and scientific information clearly to external stakeholders.
