Job summary

Advocate Health is seeking a Staff Physicist to support proton therapy and other advanced radiotherapy at the Charlotte PARC facility. You will work with a team of physicists and dosimetrists, ensuring accurate treatment planning, QA, and radiation safety across facilities.

Qualifications include a Master’s in Medical Physics and 3 years of related oncology physics experience; proton therapy experience is highly desired. Strong collaboration and communication skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Medical Physics or related field.
• Typically requires 3 years of experience in Medical Physicist Oncology.
• Proton therapy experience is highly desired.
• Certified by ABMP/ABR/CCPM preferred.

Responsibilities

• Performs delivery of non-standard, standard and complicated treatment planning and techniques.
• Calibrates therapy machines and leads QA on equipment.
• Writes specifications and commissions therapy equipment and accessories.
• Collaborates to develop and maintain QA programs and radiation safety policies.
• Tracks data affecting patient dose and verifies dose calculations.
• Consults with Radiation Oncologists on planning and target delineation.
• Ensures imaging equipment performance and safety standards.
