Job summary

Siemens Healthineers in Prescott, AZ seeks a Medical Physicist with CAMPEP residency and 5+ years of clinical experience to lead calibration, data preparation, and dosimetry for radiation therapy. You will ensure safety, compliance, and high-quality treatment planning, collaborating with IT and clinical staff.

The role requires ABR eligibility or certification and state licensing within 3 years of hire, with responsibilities spanning QA, treatment planning, and education across the department.

Qualifications

• Located or willing to relocate to Prescott, AZ or surrounding area.
• M.S. or PhD in Medical Physics, or a closely related field, required.
• Minimum of 5+ years clinical experience in addition to a CAMPEP-accredited residency.
• Candidates who have passed the Part-I and (possibly) part-II ABR Exams preferred
• Experience with High Dose Rate (HDR) and Stereotactic Radiosurgery (SRS) programs preferred
• Computer system administration experience with patient record and verify database applications desirable.
• Certification in Radiation Oncology Physics by the American Board of Radiology (ABR) or other alternative certifying body.
• Candidates not certified must become eligible for board certification within 3 years of hire.
• Must obtain relevant State licensing/registration as required for medical physicist work.

Responsibilities

• Calibrate dose meters and accelerator beam data for QA and planning.
• Prepare data for treatment planning systems and dosimetry software development.
• Ensure compliance with radiation safety regulations.
• Participate in performance improvement activities and standards of practice.
• Assist in acceptance testing and recommissioning of new machines.
• Perform treatment planning, dosimetry calculations, and planning reviews.
• Provide physics consultation to staff and oncologists.
• Ensure routine verification of the treatment planning system.
• Collaborate with IT on planning system software management.
• Assist shielding calculations for new facilities and programs.
• Interpret regulatory changes for departmental operations.
• Provide dosimetry checks after source changes.
• Assist with selection/acquisition of sources for permanent implants.
• Contribute to clinical education and competency evaluations.
