The ideal candidate holds a BS in Clinical Laboratory Science, a Nevada General Supervisor license (or eligibility), and at least 3 years of clinical lab experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Clinical Laboratory Science or related BS from an accredited college.
• Valid GENERAL SUPERVISOR license from the State of Nevada or eligible to work while license is pending.
• Minimum of 3 years working in a clinical laboratory.
• Must demonstrate the ability to read, write and speak fluent English.
• Ability to work and problem solve independently.
• Flexibility to work any shift as needed preferred.

Responsibilities

• Adhere to the laboratory’s procedures for collection, processing, analysis, and reporting of patient test results.
• Follow the laboratory’s quality control policies and document corrective actions when tests deviate.
• Identify problems that may affect test performance and notify supervisor or Medical Director.
• Perform a wide variety of laboratory procedures across Hematology, Blood Bank, Chemistry, Urinalysis, Coagulation, Microbiology, Immunology, and more.
• Maintain instruments and perform routine maintenance as needed.
• Review the accuracy of patient results prior to release.
• Recognize age-specific differences in expected results from newborns to geriatrics.
• Ensure proficiency testing samples are tested like patient samples and coordinate with other labs as required.
• May perform venipuncture or capillary puncture from newborns to geriatrics as needed.
• Assist in development and maintenance of laboratory policies and procedures.
• Adhere to safety, infection control, emergency preparedness, and HR policies.
• May be Lead Tech / General Supervisor in supervisor’s absence.
• May handle LIS and/or POC responsibilities.
