Job summary

Saint Mary’s Health Network in Reno, NV is seeking a Clinical Laboratory Scientist to join our award-winning team. You will perform a broad range of waived, moderate, and high-complexity tests, ensuring accuracy and compliance with CLIA and state requirements.

The role requires a BS in Clinical Laboratory Science, Nevada General Supervisor licensure (or eligibility), and at least 3 years in a clinical lab. Strong English communication and independent problem solving are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Clinical Laboratory Science from an accredited college.
• Valid General Supervisor license from the State of Nevada or eligible to work while license is pending.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in a clinical laboratory.
• Ability to read, write and speak fluent English.
• Ability to work and problem solve independently.
• Flexibility to work any shift as needed.

Responsibilities

• Perform waived, moderate, or highly complex lab tests as authorized by CLIA, NAC 652.410, and 652.420.
• Adhere to procedures for collection, processing, analysis, and reporting of patient results.
• Maintain quality control policies and document corrective actions when procedures deviate.
• Identify and report problems affecting test performance to supervisor or Medical Director.
• Perform and document maintenance on instruments and equipment on a routine basis.
• Review the accuracy of patient results prior to reporting and ensure appropriate age-related references.
