Job summary

Providence Redwood Memorial Hospital in Fortuna, CA is seeking a Senior Medical Laboratory Scientist to join our on-site laboratory team. This full-time role requires 8-hour variable shifts and is performed under the general supervision of the Laboratory Manager.

The ideal candidate will hold a Bachelor's degree in Medical Technology or related science and possess California licensure as a CLS or equivalent credential upon hire.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Medical Technology or related science is required.
• Licensure in California is required upon hire: one of CLS, Chemist Scientist, Immunohematologist Scientist, Microbiologist Scientist, Toxicologist Scientist, Cytogeneticist Scientist, Genetic Molecular Biologist Scientist, Hematology Scientist, Histocompatibility Scientist, or Biochemistry Special License.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine and specialized tests in the Clinical and/or Microbiology Laboratory(s) under general supervision.
• Solve technical problems requiring judgment with minimal supervision.
