Job summary

Providence St. Joseph Hospital Eureka, CA is seeking a Medical Laboratory Scientist to join our team on a full-time basis with 8-hour, variable shifts.

The Medical Technologist will perform routine and specialized tests in the Clinical and/or Microbiology Laboratory under general supervision of the Manager of Laboratory Services. Required qualifications include a Bachelor's Degree in Medical Technology or related science and California Clinical Laboratory Scientist License.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Medical Technology or a related science is required.
• California Clinical Laboratory Scientist License is required at the time of hire.

Responsibilities

• Resolve technical problems requiring judgment with minimal supervision.

Job description

Medical Laboratory Scientist at Providence St. Joseph Hospital Eureka, CA. This position is Full time and will work 8-hour, Variable shifts.

Under the general supervision of the Manager of Laboratory Services, the Medical Technologist is responsible for the performance of routine and specialized tests carried out in the Clinical and/or Microbiology Laboratory(ies). Solves technical problems requiring a complex degree of judgment with minimum supervision.

Staff members who treat patients of a specific age group must be aware of the JCAHO requirements specific to that population. The specific information skills related to the position in this job description will be related to the following age group populations: infant, child, adolescent, adult, and geriatric.

The successful candidate's placement on the wage range for this position will be determined based upon relevant job experience and other applicable factors.
