Job summary

UW Health in Madison seeks a Senior Medical Lab Technician or Medical Technologist to perform testing across the clinical laboratories, troubleshoot and maintain instrumentation, and contribute to teaching responsibilities as needed.

The role requires an associate degree at minimum, with a bachelor’s degree preferred, and ASCP or equivalent certification preferred. Strong independence and teamwork will support patient care quality.

Qualifications

• Minimum: Associate degree in laboratory science or medical laboratory technology.
• Preferred: Bachelor's degree in a chemical, physical, biological or clinical laboratory science.
• Licensure/Certification: ASCP or similar Preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform testing in the clinical laboratories (any complexity).
• Perform advanced troubleshooting, maintenance, and problem resolution.
• Demonstrate strong decision-making skills, ability to work independently, and the ability to take on teaching/training responsibilities as needed.
• Work as an effective team member with physicians, clinic staff and co-workers.
