Job summary

UW Health in Madison, WI seeks a Senior Medical Lab Technician OR Medical Technologist – Integrated Hematology to perform testing across the clinical laboratory and troubleshoot complex issues, with teaching responsibilities as needed.

Minimum education is an associate degree in laboratory science (or 60 semester hours); a bachelor's degree is preferred. Certifications by the ASCP or similar are desirable. UW Health offers strong benefits and professional growth opportunities.

Qualifications

• Minimum: Associate degree in laboratory science or medical laboratory technology; or equivalent with 60 semester hours including 24 hours of MLS courses or science courses.
• Preferred: Bachelor's degree in chemical/physical/biological or clinical laboratory science; or 60 semester hours with MLS-related coursework.

Responsibilities

• Perform testing in the clinical laboratory (any complexity).
• Conduct advanced troubleshooting and maintenance.
• Demonstrate decision-making and teaching/training when needed.
• Work as a strong team member with physicians and staff.
