Job summary

The Lab Lead Technologist at Medical Clinic of Houston, L.L.P. leads the Laboratory team under the Laboratory Supervisor, stepping in as backup when needed and guiding daily activities to ensure accurate testing and timely results.

You will work with clinicians and staff, maintain quality control and calibration records, train students and new employees, and implement procedures that uphold safety, regulatory, and Code of Conduct standards.

Qualifications

• Minimum of an Associate's of Science or related degree.
• 5+ years full-time experience in a clinical laboratory setting.
• MT, MLT, or equivalent certification.

Responsibilities

• Provides technical leadership and acts as a backup for Lab team members.
• Utilizes LIS to enter test orders, report results, verify receipt times, and check pending tests.
• Performs waived, moderately complex, and highly complex medical laboratory tests and examinations.
• Maintains detailed records of tests, quality control, calibration, and maintenance.
• Sets up equipment and instruments required for laboratory testing and calibrates them.
• Operates manual and automated equipment to perform qualitative and quantitative analyses.
• Provides training to students, new employees, and fellow staff.
• Ensures compliance with QC, QM, and PI policies and safety requirements.
• Reviews and updates laboratory procedures; stays current with technical developments.
