Job summary

Mass General Brigham is seeking a Medical Laboratory Scientist, Senior I, at North Shore Medical Center, Inc. in Salem, MA, to manage specimen processing, testing, and result reporting under CLIA guidelines.

The role includes technical supervision duties and oversight of laboratory operations. The position requires a Bachelor's in clinical laboratory sciences or related field, ASCP-BOC certification, and 3–5 years of lab experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Clinical Laboratory Sciences, Medical Technology, or Laboratory Sciences
• ASCP-BOC certification required
• 3–5 years lab experience required
• Strong knowledge of QC/QA and CLIA regulations
• Proficiency with laboratory instrumentation and data management
• Experience reading and interpreting test results for diagnoses

Responsibilities

• Follow procedures for specimen handling, processing, testing, reporting and records management
• Maintain proficiency testing and quality control records
• Adhere to QC policies and calibration/maintenance schedules
• Identify problems affecting test performance and escalate as needed
• Document corrective actions for deviations in test performance
