Mass General Brigham is seeking a Senior Medical Laboratory Scientist to perform tests under CLIA guidance and oversee daily lab operations at North Shore Medical Center, Inc. The role requires a Bachelor's in a clinical laboratory field, ASCP certification, and 3–5 years of lab experience.

As required by CLIA, the testing personnel are responsible for specimen processing, test performance, and reporting test results. Each individual performs only those tests that are authorized by the laboratory director and require a degree of skill commensurate with the individual's education, training, or experience, and technical abilities. Works independently in an efficient and organized manner to assure accurate results and records. The work requires a professional level of knowledge to read and interpret accurately test results used by providers in the diagnosis and treatment of diseases. The Medical Laboratory Scientist, Senior I, in their role as Technical Supervisor, Technical Consultant, or General Supervisor as defined by CLIA, may be delegated the responsibility of the technical oversight of the laboratory, including the day‑to‑day supervision or oversight of the laboratory operation and personnel performing testing and reporting results. Under the general supervision of the Technical Director and Clinical Supervisors, the Senior Technologist I is responsible for supervision of assigned workstations, including Quality Control (QC) review, training, competency assessment of staff, and inventory management.

Education: Bachelor's Degree in Clinical Laboratory Sciences, Bachelor's Degree in Medical Technology, or Bachelor's Degree in Laboratory Sciences required.

Licenses and Credentials: Medical Technologist (ASCP) – American Society for Clinical Pathology Board of Certification required.
