Job summary

Baptist Health is seeking a highly motivated Medical Lab Scientist to join the downtown laboratory team in Jacksonville, FL. This full-time role operates on a 7:30am to 3:30pm shift, requiring a valid Florida Immunohematology license and experience as a Medical Scientist.

Responsibilities include performing technical and clerical laboratory duties, maintaining records per SOPs, and supervising MLTs as needed. Florida licensure and MT/MLT credentials are required or preferred per position.

Qualifications

• Associate's Degree is required.
• Bachelor's Degree is required.
• Certified Medical Technologist (MT) preferred.
• Certified Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) preferred.
• Licensed Medical Technologist required.
• Licensed Clinical Laboratory Technician required.

Responsibilities

• Maintain expertise and perform technical, specimen collection/processing, LIS, and clerical duties as appropriate.
• Maintain performance records as defined in SOP manuals.
• Supervise by Director and Section Supervisors; may perform all responsibilities without on-site supervision.
• Supervise MLTs as General Supervisor and act as Charge Technologist when others are unavailable.
• Instruct new employees and students when needed.
