Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required.
• Three years of related experience required.
• Additional education or experience may substitute per policy.
• Master’s degree preferred in related fields.

Responsibilities

• Edit and/or produce manuscripts ensuring technical accuracy, editorial consistency, and audience appropriateness.
• Plan layouts, contract with vendors, and review copy.
• Design layout and oversee production.
• Research story ideas and assign or write articles.
• Plan and manage budgets.
• Oversee advertising activities.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to structure writing and editing of manuals and other communications.
• Perform literature reviews and internet research on topics.
• Collaborate with authors on content development and manuscript submission.
• Guide design/desktop publishing staff in content development for audiences.
• Edit manuscripts applying subject matter expertise and coordinate revisions.
• Interact with authors on changes, deadlines, and production requirements.
• Oversee journal administration including budgets and publishing processes.
• Establish author guidelines and resource materials as needed.
