Job summary

AHCCCS is seeking a Senior Medical Economics Analyst to join the Office of Data Analytics in Phoenix. This role will analyze Medicaid claims, encounters, and healthcare data to identify trends, cost drivers, and opportunities for improvement that inform policy decisions and operational strategy.

The analyst will develop reports, dashboards, and visualizations; communicate findings to stakeholders; and partner with business units to deliver data-driven recommendations that shape healthcare

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or 10 years of experience in business analysis, healthcare analytics, or data analysis.
• Experience working with healthcare data including medical claims, Medicaid, or Medicare data.
• Experience querying and manipulating data using SQL, SAS, Python, R, Cognos, PowerBI, or similar technologies.
• Strong ability to analyze complex datasets and communicate findings clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Master's degree in relevant field and experience with Medicaid/Medicare claims and encounter data preferred.

The analyst will develop reports, dashboards, and visualizations; communicate findings to stakeholders; and partner with business units to deliver data-driven recommendations that shape healthcare decisions for over 2 million Arizona Medicaid members.

Key qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, Finance or healthcare-related field, or 10 years of experience in business analysis, healthcare analytics, or data analysis
• Experience working with healthcare data including medical claims, Medicaid, or Medicare data
• Experience querying and manipulating data using SQL, SAS, Python, R, Cognos, PowerBI, or similar technologies
• Strong ability to analyze complex datasets and communicate findings clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences
