Job summary

Allied Medical LLC, a GMP-regulated medical device supplier in Earth City, MO, seeks a Sourcing and Procurement Specialist to own the supplier lifecycle from market research to qualification and performance management.

The role collaborates with Engineering, Quality, Planning, and Production to ensure components meet quality, cost, and delivery requirements while leading ECO processes to conclusion. On-site with travel.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience sourcing components in medical device or other highly regulated manufacturing environments.
• Experience working cross-functionally with Engineering and Quality to confirm technical requirements and drawings.
• Experience managing Engineering Change Orders (ECOs) through to conclusion.
• Knowledge of FDA QSR/QMSR, ISO 13485, and supplier qualification processes.

Responsibilities

• Lead sourcing activities for mechanical, electrical, and other components across the medical device product range.
• Identify, evaluate, and qualify new suppliers against cost, quality, capacity, and regulatory criteria.
• Negotiate pricing, lead times, and terms to support cost and supply continuity.
• Monitor industry trends, material pricing, and supply chain risks affecting sourcing strategy.
• Prepare and issue RFQs with complete technical packages and evaluate quotes for total cost of ownership.
• Maintain RFQ tracking records and present supplier comparisons to leadership for source decisions.
• Collaborate with Engineering and Quality to confirm component requirements and drawings prior to sourcing.
• Review drawings to ensure form, fit, and function meet requirements.
• Lead ECOs and assess supply impact of proposed changes.
• Manage supplier qualification including FAI and audits to meet regulatory requirements.
• Track supplier performance metrics and drive corrective actions as needed.
• Maintain ERP data related to purchasing, items, and suppliers.
